Producers and other digital musicians: It’s been my goal to help spread the collective knowledge between do it yourself musician’s, in the hopes that we all may gain a better understanding of the musical arts. What are your suggestions for software production and recording tools?
Audacity automatically comes to my mind as a must have for any musician. It’s easy to use recording features, and it’s free for PC, MAC, and Linux. There are a ton of resources, tutorials and videos about how to use it as well.
Cool Edit Pro I like the design of this one a lot. I like to use it to crop down samples and add post production effects. It’s got a pretty good interphase but not quite as easy as Audacity. Cool edit is now owned by Adobe but version 1 and 2 are still available.
So that’s it for my list how about yours? What software generaly helps the process?
